Watchman Report December 27, 2007 Greetings Fellow Watchmen and Saints! Grace and peace to you this holiday season… I encourage you to continue in these days to be vigilant. We must not be deceived by the subtleties of our enemy. The days are truly filled with distraction of every sort and (you may have noticed) some of it is extremely compelling. I was struck this morning as I read the article on CNN detailing a person who was killed and two others injured by a tiger that escaped its enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo. The tiger apparently came into a cafe where I am sure they were just enjoying some time. Read the article here This was a chilling and graphic reminder that our enemy roams around like a roaring lion seeking those whom he may devour. The Lord spoke to me so clearly through this tragic event that we must not think that we have the enemy contained by what we've "built" to keep him contained and keep ourselves protected....that although these things usually are effective, the mandate in I Peter 5:8 is still to be sober (nepho) and vigilant (gregorio). Therein lies the problem....it is because these things are usually effective that we become less than sober and vigilant. Be on guard against apathy. Press through any apathy or even weariness and strongly lay hold of purpose. Do not be moved. These are days which hold promise of incredible advancement! Call forth "the glory that shall be revealed in us" as spoken of in Romans 8. Verse 19 says that the whole of creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. I had never noticed before this time how many of the words in verse 19 speak of "watching." It is as if the whole of God's creation watches with us in this season. Many things in heavenly places and in the earthly realm stand poised for a great release. Continue to watch and pray, being proactive in this regard so that we might not only partner with our Father in His very breath, but also so that we might disassemble the plans of the enemy even before they begin to manifest. I pray that this New Year will bring you a greater depth and height of vision, insight and understanding as you press more and more into His heart and His purpose. May His agape, which never fails, be yours and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ. Blessings, Teresa Smith Chief Watchmen | ||
